Lot #1256 - This beautiful, one-of-a-kind 1957 Bel Air convertible was built to impress and has won numerous awards. It debuted at Cobo Hall. With over 4,000 hours, this build is a rolling work of art. The custom chassis was completely smoothed, painted and buffed. It is supported by a polished C4 suspension complete with custom-built sway bars. The front Carrara chrome coilovers ride on directional Dunlop ZR tires 18 x 7" in the front and 20 x 10" in the rear. All four wheels feature 14" cross-drilled powder-coated rotors and Wilwood 6-piston polished calipers to stop this flamed beauty. The engine is a brand new LS6 by Street & Performance with every chrome option backed by a brand-new, built 4L65E GM transmission. The custom Mandrel Bend exhaust was fully jet-hot coated. With flames being the theme, a custom aluminum gas tank was made with flames all over nestled in the frame of the body that was smoothed and shaved. It has fabricated flame rolled inner fenders and roll pan along with additional rolled flames on the outer front fenders. Protecting the body are bumpers that have been filled, narrowed and smoothed to perfection with custom front bumper bullets. The power convertible top is covered in a Royal Blue Mercedes cloth. The premium one-off interior is in Royal Blue and Silver to set off the custom console and gages. The tilt column supports an Impala Sport steering wheel that keeps the authentic charm.
