Description
Lot #763 - Less than 2,000 miles since frame-off restoration. 348 cubic inch engine with tri-power. Powerglide transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows, and a very rare option POWER SEAT! Wonderbar radio, dual antennas, dual mirrors, Continental kit, exhaust ports, 3-bar spinner hubcaps, fender skirts, door handle shields, tissue dispenser, floor mats. One of the longest list of options on any '58 Impala available. Rio red with white top. Multiple award winner including best of show, best Chevrolet and best General Motors 1959 and older. One of the finest examples of the 1958 Impala available today. This body style was only manufactured one year. In 1958, the Impala was actually a model of the Bel-Air, but its success was so great that from 1959 on, it was given its own catagory within the Chevrolet line. Over 6 million Impalas were built in the first ten years of its production run. Less than 1% (55,989) of these were manufactured in 1958, and fewer than 10% of these had the 348 engine with the tri-power option. There aren't very accurate figures on how many still remain, but there are very few. Fewer still are the cars that have all of the options this car has and are in this condition.
