Lot #641.1 - One of the most sought after and rarest Austin-Healeys made. Production of the 3000 series started in 1959 and ended in December of 1967 for a total of 42,925 3000's in all body styles made. Of this number only 2,284 MK I BN-7 2 seaters were made. This Healey is the 504th made. This Healey was the subject of a total concours, nut and bolt, rotisserie restoration with no expense spared. This Healey was sold new in California and comes with a copy of the factory Build Sheet. It was purchased 2 years ago in California, restored and now has less than 200 test miles. It was totally rust and accident free, and has all the original sheet metal. The complete chassis was powdercoated for durability. Everything was rebuilt including the engine and transmission. The navy blue leather and vinyl interior is correct for a blue car and has a blue top and tonneau. The wheels are U.S. made Dayton. Comes with a photo album of the restoration. This Healey was bought new by Allen Grant who later became one of the drivers for the original Shelby American Racing team. The Healey has an extensive racing history in California. A list of all owners and racing history will go with the car.
