METALLIC GOLDEN BEIGE
Lot #661 - This model was the final and ultimate model in a long run of successful sports cars, starting with the 100-4 of 1953. The MKIII was produced from 1964 to 1967 and featured end-of-the-line upgrades such as a 150bhp engine, power brakes, softer trailing arm rear suspension and revised interior with a beautiful walnut veneered dashboard. Today, this model is one of the most sought after of the production cars and is arguably the fastest, safest and most comfortable Big Healey's. This spectacular example offered here has just completed a superb restoration by premier marquee specialist Kurt Tanner Restorations. Recently purchased in California from its second owner, this grand tourer is finished in the attractive and highly desirable factory color scheme of Metallic Golden Beige with black leather trim, black top and top boot. Details of the restoration include new show quality body and paint work, new chrome, rubber, glass, interior kit, dashboard, new 60-spoke chrome wire wheels with radial tire, new wiring harness and electrics, stainless steel exhaust system, cadmium plated hardware, rebuilt engine and transmission, new braking and fuel system, etc. This vehicle has been restored with absolute authenticity in mind. The finest materials have been used and the results speak for themselves. All work and detailing has been carried out to Austin-Healey Club Gold Concours standards. This late grand tourer is supplied with a fifth chrome spare wheel, top boot and bag, owner's manual, knock-off hammer, BMIHT certificate and photo album attesting to its extensive and professional rebuild.
