Lot #665.1 - Ford Factory Prototype made by Ben Smith, designer of original 1957, 1958, 1959 Ford Skyliner Retractable Hardtop and designer of the White Ford Mustang 1965 Retractable Hard Top Convertible, reputedly to have cost Ford $250,000! Ford program was scraped and car was presumed to be destroyed. Later Ben Smith built a few of these Mustang Retractables on his own. It took 1000 man hours to build as a result of the time and high expenses. Venture was discontinued by Ben Smith.
