Lot #406 - This luxury-class Jaguar has power rack & pinion steering, power disc brakes, a dual overhead cam 3.8-liter six with dual SU carbs and a 4-Speed manual transmission plus overdrive. Original drive train, all new. Totally rebuilt by Faithful Automotive Services in Huntington, NY with a full restoration done at that time. The engine rebuild alone cost $14,000+ with a 0.20 over bore, new 9:1 pistons, new cams, new bearings, new valves, and a ported and polished head. The 4-speed transmission was rebuilt and a new clutch fitted. The electric overdrive was rebuilt and the rear end was resealed. The power rack & pinion steering was thoroughly gone through and the 4-wheel disc brakes are all new. On the interior, all new Connolly leather was installed and the original wood dash and trim re-varnished. All instruments have been rebuilt and calibrated and it has a premium stereo. The Opalescent Maroon paint is factory correct with a silver metallic base coat and all chrome is exceptional. New chrome knock-off wheels with new Dunlop radials. Everything was completed 3,942 miles ago and is documented in a 50+ page written narrative with receipts. The cost of the mechanical rebuild totaled $45,833.68.
