Lot #1065.1 - New for 1968, the Corvette had improved aerodynamics and better handling at higher speeds. This pinnacle of styling achievement endured for the following 14 years. This Corvette has been under the same ownership since 1969, accident free and garage kept in sunny Riverside, California. A fresh repaint in the factory LeMans Blue has just recently been completed and involved complete disassembly of all exterior trim and a media blast down to its original fiberglass panels. The numbers matching 427 engine has been rebuilt within the last 5000 miles to include thirty over pistons, a mild performance camshaft and a complete engine balance. The original 4-speed Trans and the original 3.08 positraction rear end are still retained in the car. Factory equipped with air-conditioning, power windows, power steering, AM/FM stereo and Firestone wide oval tires, this Big Block 427 Corvette includes the following original documents: Tank sticker, warranty manual with protect-o-plate, owners manual with original jacket, AM/FM radio operating manual, California Emissions Pamphlet, California pink slip, black and gold license plates, registrations dating back to 1969, original keys, dealer handout and miscellaneous maintenance receipts. This Corvette was also the cover and centerfold feature car for Corvette Fever Magazine Celebrating 30 years of the Stingray Body Style. One of only a very few documented Big Block; 4-speed air-conditioned 68 Corvettes ever built, this is truly a rare chance to own a highly documented California Corvette.
