Lot #5010.4 - Fully documented and hand signed by Joel "Mr. Motion" Rosen, this prototype (#01) Baldwin-Motion SuperCoupe won the General Motors 2005 SEMA Design Award as "Best GM Vehicle". The two-seat Baldwin-Motion SuperCoupe is powered by an all aluminum 540cid Merlin/Motion big block with a Kinsler Cross Ram Fuel Injection, set back 13" on a proprietary 2x3" tubular steel chassis. Power is transmitted to the independent rear fitted with hardened steel high-torque axles and a DANA 44 posi-traction center section via a Tremec TKO 5-speed transmission. The backbone/spine chassis runs through the console and is welded to the body, resulting in an incredibly rigid platform. Suspension is 4-wheel independent with polished unequal length control arms, toe-in control links. For maximum stopping power, car is equipped with 4-wheel Baer Claw Extreme-plus 6-piston disc brakes. Engraved with the Motion logo, 14" reverse cross-drilled rotors and unique cooling vents and ducts. The lowered and fully tubbed SuperCoupe, coach built by Phil Somers, also features Hot Rod air conditioning, custom interior with 6-way power seats, hand built dash and console and overhead console, hand crafted L88 style all steel hood, custom steel body panels, motion influenced, bonspeed alloy wheels, complete state of the art Sony sound system including a high resolution camera for rear view safety, and striping and badging in the Baldwin-Motion tradition. From the Ron Pratte Collection.
