Description
Lot #660.1 - The Shelby Series 1 was conceived as a modern day version of the classic Cobra that would be built using the latest technology. This car is number 190 of 249 built and is fully documented as the very first supercharged and intercooled example produced, it was built specially for Louis Kapcsandy, a personal friend of Carroll Shelby. When we ordered the car I had a 1992 red Viper; I asked Carroll to paint my Series 1 the same color as my red Viper. He agreed, so the paint color is officially referred to as "Viper Red". The car is also the first non-silver metallic finish that Shelby built, making this one an extremely rare and important automobile. Only one meticulous owner from new, with full documentation. It's been fully serviced and looked after by Terry Scarborough Racing at Infineson Raceway in Sonoma, California. Also with the car is the original owner's manual, official Series 1 car cover, a letter from Shelby Automobiles confirming this special car's place as the first supercharged Series 1, and the underside of the trunk lid was signed by those who had a hand in crafting this special car, including Carroll Shelby himself.
